This new set of OGP guidelines aims to help oil and gas companies achieve and maintain high standards of health management for everyone associated with field operations. The guidelines supersede three previous OGP documents produced in the mid 1990s and are designed to complement national and international standards and regulatory requirements as well as individual corporate health guidelines. The paper will give an outline of the document covering topics ranging from health impact assessment through medical evacuations to food and water hygiene standards. It will highlight the practical guidance within each chapter and will discuss the relevance of the advice to the populations the document serves.
