Heat modulation is brought to bear on semiconducting metal oxide methane sensor. Feature variables are extracted from the output of sensor. And then, the optimal feature variable subset and suboptimal feature variable subset are selected from the extracted feature variable set. With the subsets, the measurement system for methane concentration is calibrated, and then practical measurement is done. The practical measurement results show that the interference of temperature to the measurement of methane concentration can be avoided using this method. At the same time, temperature can also be measured, so multi-parameter measurement can be done with only one sensor.
