The lithium-aluminum-cobalt-nickel oxide particles were prepared by chemical coprecipitation. In this process the reactants act the coprecipitant to simplify the reaction procedure and obtain the fine powder at lower calcination temperature of 1000_C. XRD, SEM and FTIR were used to examine the effect of nickel. When the concentration of nickel ion increases, the absorption strength of the peak of spinel structure in the FTIR patterns decreases.The decrease in the absorption of the FTIR spectrum is due to the occupation of nickel in the aluminum position. The particle size of the LiAlxCoyNii1-x-yO2 was determined.The electrical properties of the lithium-aluminum-cobalt-nickel oxide particles were also determined.
