摘要

In 2006, we embarked on a study to determine the effect of an introductory business course on students’interest in pursuing a business degree and improved retention of business knowledge. We expanded thestudy in Fall 2008 to include research questions on whether gender influenced students’ receptiveness tothe new course curriculum and delivery. Our results indicated that students’ knowledge of business andbusiness plans increased. However, while women were more certain than men in degree choice, theywere less likely than men to start their own business, and preferred working alone.
