While several large retailers have mandated RFID deployment across their value chain, the casefor RFID adoption among several other retailers still remains more uncertain. In this paper, weuse an exploratory methodology, content analysis, to quantitatively analyze benefits, RFIDapplicable value chain activities, and business processes along with associations betweenbenefits, value chain activities, and business processes. In order to realize benefits retailers mustsituate their RFID implementation choices within a business context. To assist in this endeavor,we identify applicable business processes and value chain activities and key associations thatinfluence retailer benefits.
