Recently, with network operating and servicing time going on, the safety of operating tunnelin Shanghai is becoming a focus in the circle of civil engineering. It is well known that safety of operatingtunnel is greatly influenced by the structural status of the tunnel. This article firstly give an introduction of maindiseases of operating tunnel based on the large amount of information and date collected in the past decadesabout Shanghai Metro. Then causes for the disease are analyzed and related suggestions to prevent the diseasesdeteriorate are given. It is shown that the main problem of operating tunnel include leakage, crack, longitudinalsettlement and constringency.
