In 2008, it is an important turning point in the development of cross-strait economic and cultural exchanges, but also brings new challenges and opportunities to the development of Xiamen tourism industry. Such as, Enormous and varied market demand, the adjustment of the statutory holidays,the adjustments of "national travel agents Management Ordinance", new changes in the situation of the Taiwan Strait, as well as the positioning of Xiamen tourism is an important area in the development of modem service industries. Under the new situation, Xiamen tourism industry should attach great importance to innovation and development. The author proposed new strategic thinking about innovative development of tourism industry under the new situation in Xiamen.
