摘要

In the present study we analyzed the concept of a healthy labour market from a holistic perspective and we proposed a method of investigation applied for the Romanian labour market. According to the idea that the economic science should go beyond its focus on aspects that are exclusively of a quantitative nature and that it should also reflect on a larger extent the qualitative aspects that are more difficult to measure and quantify, but that are also extremely important, we considered that a diagnosis regarding a healthy labour market based solely on the statistical approach shouldn't be considered enough. If the economic science must channel its efforts towards the increase of the quality of life of the people, towards a higher level of life satisfaction for more people, we considered that an important manner of investigation for the health of the labour market should be based especially on the perceptions of the individuals that fulfill their professional life in a given economic space.
