Type-1 and Type-II censoring schemes are the two most popular censoring schemes. This article presents the statistical inferences of the unknown parameters of a Burr type XII distribution when the data are Type-II censored. It is well known that the maximum likelihood estimators can not be obtained in closed form. We propose a simple fixed point type algorithm to compute the maximum likelihood estimators. We also obtain the Bayes estimates of the unknown parameters under a squared error loss function. It is observed that the Bayes estimators can not be obtained in explicit forms. We use Lindley's approximation to compute the Bayes estimators and the importance sampling technique to compute the Bayes estimates and also to construct the corresponding credible intervals. Monte Carlo simulations are performed to observe the behavior of the proposed methods.
