The alloying of silver with magnesium has effects on the mechanical and corrosion properties, and introduces an antibaterial effect to such alloys, introducing multifunctionality. Based on these effects, magnesium-silver alloys are not only promising materials for bone reconstruction but could also be introduce to applications, where antibacterial effects are wanted.
