The problem of true heading estimation for moving objects using carrier phase observables from two GPS receivers has been examined. The proposed algorithm is based on kinematic model for the relative motion of two antennas on the basis of GPS velocity solutions. Baseline vector is estimated in ECEF reference frame by processing differential carrier phase observables with the help of Kalman filter. Then heading and pitch angles are computed using simple geometric relations. In addition, the correlation between estimate accuracy and different types of velocity solutions used (doppler, carrier phase) has been investigated, too.
