This paper presents the progress of ongoing efforts at SunPower Corporation to increase the moduleefficiency in high volume production of E20 (20% efficiency) module platform. As we continue to ramp up thevolumes of this platform in production, progress is being made on increasing the control of materials quality, designand process parameters that enabled increased average efficiency of module by 0.4% absolute over 18 months ,resulting in a current average 20.5% module efficiency. This record performance is matched by high reliability of themodule as we are continuing our test to failure based on IEC 61215 standards and we do not see increaseddegradation. SunPower continues to push the efficiency limits on both cell and module. Recently Generation 3Maxeon? cell was introduced to production. With the increased power from cell, we now have initial productionthat show an average module efficiency > 21%.
