The resistance furnace temperature control system is a nonlinear one, which has characteristics of large inertia and great delay. It is difficult for the conventional PID controller to get ideal control effect, which has low control precision and poor adaptability. To effectively control the temperature of resistance furnace, a double fuzzy controller based on PIC single chip is designed. According to the deviation size of output signal, two fuzzy controllers are independently adopted to control temperature. When the deviation is large, the "wide-tuning" fuzzy controller is employed to achieve rapid response; otherwise, the "finetuning" fuzzy controller is employed to enable the system have smaller steady-state error, thus the controller has stronger self-adaptive ability. And the system is simulated with Matlab software. The simulated results indicate that this system can effectively reduce the steady-state error and overshoot, and has higher control accuracy and strong robustness.
