The Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS)gyroscope have a wide range of applications because of the virtueof compact size, low cost and power consumption, and massproduction. Since the MEMS gyroscope usually has the largedrift, how to effectively reduce the random drift error is crucialin improving the gyroscope precision and performance. In thispaper, we propose a new de-drift method based on the recentlydeveloped empirical mode decomposition (EMD). The proposedEMD-based method is able to reduce the noise term of randomdrift. The method is also compared to a related approach basedon the Wavelet filtering method. Experiment results indicatedthat the drift noise parameters were reduced and noise signalswere adequately restrained.
