The research was conducted in Linhai-the National Historical and Cultural Well-Known City.Based on analysis of traditional street blocks arrangement and space pattern, and site investigation including space, outward appearance, material, symbol,and details, the characteristics of street blocks and buildings, the modem residential space, pattern, and outward appearance suitable to local conditions were proposed in the paper.
