This paper builds indicators of delay, queue length and wave velocity parameters in the cell transmission model (CTM). Then, based on the simulation of CTM, traffic flow characteristics of traffic incidents from several indicators are studied. The results show that traffic incidents can be divided into five stages by density. It takes a long time for traffic incidents to dissipate completely while the generation and dissipation procedure of queue is just in the early stages. Space occupancy, queue length and the delay of the traffic incidents present different evolutional characteristics.
