This paper reports on preliminary flow condition development work for a Mach 10 scramjet condition in X3. Experiment and CFD demonstrate that a 600μs test flow has been achieved, and that the core flow diameter is 240 mm at the nozzle exit. Ongoing work includes running higher fidelity axisymmetric CFD of the flow condition and fully characterising this test flow (spatially and transiently), then proceeding to develop a Mach 12 flow condition in continuing support of the SCRAMSPACE project.
