In the present study, modified dispersion-controlled-dissipative scheme (DCD) is employed to simulate of hypervelocity flows in the shock-expansion tube (SET), JF-16. The computation is validated by the shock speed measured in experiment via ionization probes. Further computations for several test models agree with the experimental visualizations for the test flow of super-orbital speed. Further improvement of the facility is suggested to duplicate the real flight condition regarding to the Mach number, temperature and chemical composition of the test flow.
