For successful maneuvering of a fishing vessel, it is necessary to plan the vessel's trajectory from the time of searching target fish shoals to the moment when a target shoal is enclosed into a space of a fishing gear. In fact, steering of the vessel during both trawling and purse seining starts with searching for the target species. After the target shoal has been found and the parameters of its motion (speed, submersion depth, and relative bearing) have been assessed, the navigator's main task is to choose an initial position of the fishing gear. To select the initial position of the fishing gear, the navigator should perform a number of intelligent actions. Firstly, to analyze fishing area for dangerous grounds, where fishing gears can be entangled. This requires knowledge of the "Schematic chart of the forbidden and dangerous areas of the fishing area." For the sake of convenience of using the information from the "Schematic chart", the contours of the forbidden and dangerous areas should be plotted to large-scale navigational charts. Secondly, to analyze the target fish species motion parameters and consider the behavioral characteristic.
