A great momentous an involvement of space researchers and national space agencies rejoicing a realization of space exploration for International Space Station (ISS). US Astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian Federal Space Agency cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko has spending almost a year (340 Days) in space and involved many space activities. However, it docs not necessarily mean astronauts can spend years on end in space. Some longer duration spaceflights have been promising, others less so. The longest duration flight of all was also perhaps the most promising. That's the flight by Valeri Polyakov who spent just over fourteen months in the earlier Russian space station MIR.
