A Comprehensive Analysis on Logistics Center Location Determination

In the logistic system, logistics centers play an important role. It is the bridge connecting the upstream and downstream components in the logistics network. The reasonable location of logistic centers can reduce labor intensity, speed up the flow of goods, and reduce circulation costs. There are many methods about the location of logistics center determination, which can be divided into two categories: qualitative and quantitative methods. Quantitative method indeed can achieve the optimal solution, but it cannot consider the various factors, especially some unquantifiable factors. Qualitative method is simple and practical, but it is greatly influenced by the subjectivity and difficulty to achieve the desired results. The comprehensive analysis method proposed in this paper combines the advantages of analytic hierarchy process (AHP), expert scoring method, and Baumel-Wolfe model. The basic steps of comprehensive analysis method (1) get the weight of each index by AHP, (2) get a group of alternate address with higher scores by expert scoring method, and (3) get the optimal location solution from the alternate address with higher score by the Baumel-Wolfe model. In this paper, it is proven that the comprehensive analysis method is a decision-making method with strong applicability. It can quickly and accurately select the optimal location schemes from numerous alternative addresses.
