In this paper, a robust PID controller is designed with safety interlocks to control the level of liquid in continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR). Designed PID controller is continuous and cost effective compared to PLC and DCS. The designed PID is suitable for small scale industries where cost is constrain. For tuning of the PID Ziegler-Nicholas, open loop tuning method is used. The designed PID is tested on process plant to control the level of liquid in CSTR.
