A miniaturized patch antenna operating at 3.2(WiMAX) and 5.1 GHz (WLAN) band is presented. The slotted ground approach is used to accomplish miniaturization and multiband operation in the proposed structure. The achieved miniaturization corresponding to lower resonance in patch area and volume is approximately 86% and 79.7%, respectively. The antenna has an impedance bandwidth ranging from 3.15-3.28GHz centered at 3.2GHz and 4.93-5.3GHz centered at 5.1GHz. The antenna shows good impedance match, stable polar pattern and radiation efficiency greater than 70% at the targeted frequency.
