Home theater system uses more than two loudspeakers to generate surround sound. The sound reproduced by the loudspeakers must be correctly transferred to listener to generate surround sound effectively. The reproduced sound can be distorted by a lot of reasons such as directivity characteristics of a loudspeaker and room effect, etc. In this paper, the directivity patterns of a loudspeaker were analyzed by experiment and computer simulation method using FEM and BEM. As a result, we obtained the optimal shape of some brace to improve the acoustic characteristics of the enclosure of the loudspeaker.
