This paper introduces direct-on and soft start technique on belt conveyor. The realize soft shart is becoming necessary as beell conveyor development. After analyzed and compared all kinds of present soft start technique, this paper think the speed variable hydraulic coupling is most applicable soft start technique in present Chinese coal mine.
