Abstract: Bismuth-germanium oxides (Bi$-12$/GeO$-20$/) and bismuth- silicon oxide (Bi$-12$/SiO$-20$/) single crystals doped with chromium or manganese are photochromic materials. The annealing of these materials in some atmospheres changes their optical properties. The results of experimental research are presented. !6
