In this paper, the method of the determination of trace Be in aluminum alloys by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry is reported. The spectral and nonspectral interference effectof matrix and co-exist elements in aluminum alloy were investigated. The analytical spectral line (Be 313.042nm) is sharp in the presence of matrix and co-exist elements. The detection limit of the determined element was also studied. The optimum working conditions of the instrument, JY 170 ULTRACE inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer, were examined.
