摘要

A glass-epoxy printed wiring board that shows high flame resistance without use of such flame retardants as halogen compounds and phosphorus compounds has been developed to overcome environmental issues caused with the flame retardants. The printed wiring board contains a specific flame-resistant epoxy resin compound consisting of phenol aralkyl-type epoxy resin and hardener and a limited amount of harmless metal hydroxide. The board shows high safety when burned and disposed of. It also has high flame resistance and other good characteristics, including resistance to solder heating and chemical agents in processing, electronic properties, and moldability, making it a practical FR-4 board.
