摘要

E-Government, for some, will transform the relationship between government and citizens; for others, it will simply reinforce existing social and political behaviour. Australia is highly ranked for its on-line government services, but is lowly rated on customer focus. Accordingly, we explore through qualitative interviews whether the Internet can facilitate relationships between government and citizens. For a few citizens e-government enhances the relationship but for others it does not. More research is needed because this is important for relationship marketing theory and all levels of government.
