摘要

The negative sequence components and harmonic levels of the Shenmu power grid exceeds the requirements of the national standards and have an influence on the normal operation of the 2×100MW generators, when the 110 kV rail traction power supply lines are under operation. This paper presents a Static VAR Compensators (SVC) scheme to reduce the negative sequence components and harmonic currents from the electric rail traction. A new calculation method based on only partially balancing the negative sequence components has been applied to determine the size and parameters of SVC. After the operating of SVC in 2002, the field measurement data show that the purposes of suppressing the negative sequence components and harmonics have been reached as well as that required before.
