The aim of the present work was to develop a simple and reproducible method for preparingciprofloxacin kit employing stannous fluoride (SnF2) as a reducing agent for 99mTc. Materials andmethods: Several molars relationships of ciprofloxacin: SnF2 were assessed. Biokinetic studies in healthyrats and rats bearing an abscess produced by Staphilococcus aureus and Echerichia Coli were performed.Results: The labelling yield was >95% for more than 6 hours. The abscess/counterlateral thigh ratio rose upto 4.21±1.13 and 5.00±0.29 at 20h for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, respectively. Markedaccumulation kidneys and bowels were observed. The radiopharmaceutical showed a fast plasma clearance.41±1% of the injected dose excreted via urinary tract. Conclusions: Developed method for 99mTc-labellingof ciprofloxacin using stannous fluoride as reducing agent resulted a simple procedure, with a satisfactorystability. Ciprofloxacin labelled by this approach should be suitable for scintigraphic imaging of infections.
