摘要

As a new technology applied widely, Visualization in Scientific Computing (ViSC) is effective means to analyze the relationships of multidimensional data. ViSC is widely applied in geology. Traditional ViSC has been applied in many fields, such as drawing terrain, analyzing the distribution of minerals, constructing and displaying the 3D images of geologic deposit, analyzing the relationships of multidimensional data from prospecting, constructing oceanic basic geographical feature and so on. ViSC can simplified several kinds of researches by constructing visualization systems. This paper first introduces die applications of traditional ViSC in geology, on this basis, the paper analyzes and comprehends the latest development of ViSC and the latest technology, including handling multidimensional data, virtual realization systems, the improved algorithms of drawing images and so on, aggregates the applications of die new technology in geology, discusses the new theories and methods of Visualization applied in geology.
