Evacuation simulation accounting for the developing fire environment is critical to study of human behavior in fire emergency as well as building safety assessment. We consider the impact of the fire parameters such as distribution, dynamics, temperature and carbon monoxide content, on people physiology, psychology and behavior when evacuating from fire emergency. Simulations of 500 people evacuating from a two-storey building in fire are conducted, some typical results and phenomena are described and analyzed. The results are consistent with observations made in practical situations and are computationally inexpensive, showing that the model-based simulation provides a feasible framework for evacuation simulations in engineering application.
