The objective of this paper is to study the early stages of the design as part of the whole design, to demonstrate the convenience to use a single 3D tool for all design stages, and to highlight the advantages can be obtained from technical, economical and timing points of view (better, cheaper and shorter designs). At the same time this paper analyses current FORAN system early and basic design tools, reviewing how main drivers match features, and what is the solution provided for each case.
