In this paper, the water resources carrying capacity of Taiyuan city were studied using principle component analysis method on the basis of evaluating water resources development and utilization. The results indicate that the economic development dynamic factors have more influence on water resources carrying capacity than the natural resource system. In final, the author gives advices on economic development and the water resources allocation of Taiyuan city.
