In the era of knowledge economy, knowledge workers have become the source of competitive advantage. The enthusiasm of the workers affected their performance. So how to motivate knowledge workers effectively has become one of the important problems that the enterprise must settle. Firstly, this paper makes an analysis of the characteristics for knowledge Vvorkers. These characteristics include independence, creativity, strong achievement motivation, strong will to leave office and so on. Secondly, based on the analysis of the characteristics for knowledge workers, this paper puts forward the corresponding suggestions to motivate -the knowledge workers as follows: setting up proper salary system, offering work and achievement motivation, strengthening career management, and providing good development environment
