Effect of Fruit Size on the Quality of Nanfeng Tangerine

The effection of fruit size on the quality of Nanfeng tangerine were analyzed by using the small-fruit line '97-2' as experiment materials, according to the size of fruit transverse diameter, the fruits were divided into four grades: Grade I (>4.5cm) , Grade II (4.04.5cm) , Grade III (3.5-4.0cm) and Grade IV (< 3.5cm) . The results showed that the number and the weight of 3.5-4.5cm fruits on transverse diameter accounted for 78.65% of the total number, 83.42% of the total weight, respectively. And the number and the weight of more than 4.5 cm and less than 3.5cm fruits on transverse diameter accounted for 21.35% of the total number, 16.58% of the total weight, respectively. The 4.0-4.5cm fruits on transverse diameter got the best comprehensive quality, followed by 3.5-4.0cm fruits. More than 4.5cm fruits on transverse diameter were delicate with good-mastication, but the titratable acid content was very high. The soluble solids content of less than 3.5cm fruits on transverse diameter was the highest, but the pulp was coarse.
