The undergraduate bioengineering course covered many different aspects of bioengineering as a field and introducing biomechanics in just a handful of lectures was a challenge. The method of using interactive MADYMO visuals for introducing biomechanics, and its applications, was a useful way to introduce the subject to a group of students with a diverse background and limited mechanics and physiology knowledge. The students learned fundamental modeling techniques, were able to visualize these techniques, and were able to see the real-world applicability of biomechanics. The students who completed this course are expected to have a sufficient introductory background of fundamental biomechanics concepts, and should be prepared well enough to successfully complete a full, more detailed biomechanics course.
