Dam surveillance aims to detect, by visual observation and monitoring, any phenomenon that can compromise the structural and operating integrity of a structure or its related operating equipment. It plays a crucial role in the realm of dam safety management. In addition to visual inspections, the goal of monitoring systems is to measure certain physical parameters of dams so as to follow their evolution.
