1. The electricity sector reform will introduce new alternatives for generators and consumers 2. Natural gas based technologies will have an increasing participation in the systm 3. Regulated tariffs help mitigate shor-term variations due to external conditions (e.g. fuel supply/prices) 4. Renewables, specially solar technologies will need additional support from alternative mechanism (e.g. Emission trading) to compete in the market 5. The most important changes will be gradually introduced, and could take up to 5 years to develop important infrastructure 6. This transition can impact the regulated tariff and the nodal costs given that new generation capacity will be built.
