The Construction Monitoring Plan was developed to educate the contractor/field staff and clearly define roles, responsibilities and decision points required during construction based on forecasted rain events and resulting reservoir conditions. The Construction Monitoring Plan clearly defines critical contact information, water elevation thresholds, actions required by Contractor/Owner/Engineer, and schematic rendering of the dam to illustrate key elevations such as top of a cofferdam/berm, spillway weir, embankment crest, etc. The Construction Monitoring Plan was developed to be visually oriented through the use of a flow chart with decision trees that document actions to be taken by Contractor/Owner/Engineer for various trigger points, making it user friendly and easy to follow in the field. A series of checklists also accompanies the plan to assist the contractor with various aspects including; site inspections, pre-event activities, list of equipment and water controls required, and site security/safety aspects.
