摘要

A depth-averaged two-dimensional (2-D) numerical model was developed in the present paper, with the goal of simulating suspended sediment transport. In the model, the advection-diffusion equation of the suspended sediment was solved using the Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method based on unstructured meshes. According to the suspended sediment characteristics of Lianyungang port, the model was applied to simulate the 2-D suspended sediment transport with reasonably determine the related sediment parameters. The evaluation of the model revealed good agreement between the proposed model and field data of suspended sediment concentrations. The model can correctly reflect the characteristics of suspended sediment motion around Lianyungang Harbor.
