This paper reports an investigation of the change in field distribution above a sintered Nd{sub}16Fe{sub}76B{sub}5 (atomic%) magnet during the initial magnetisation and demagnetisation processes. A Redcliffe Magtronics “MagScan" system has been employed to measure the x-, y- and z- components of magnetic field at a height of 1mm above the surface of the magnet, with a resolution of 0.2mm.
