In this paper a fault-tolerant control strategy based on current prediction under open-circuit fault for the open-winding PMSG system is proposed. When the switch of one inverter is open-circuited, or one phase winding of the motor is open, the OW-PMSG system can be reconstructed as a two-phase operation system which is driven by dual H-bridge inverter. To keep the electromagnetic torque constant and the system operating steadily, the amplitude and phase of the remaining two-phase current need to be redesigned. The current-error-based cost function includes two-phase current error is designed to evaluate all voltage vectors produced by dual H-bridge inverter. Finally, simulations and experimental results are carried out to validate the proposed method.
