An Envisaged SLA-Based Cloudlet Business Model for Ensuring Service Guarantees

The expansion in the usage and invention of technology open doors for businesses to explore ways on how they can increase their yearly revenue. A Cloudlet is one of the promising technology introduced by Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) to overcome the network connection delays encountered by the Cloud consumers when using delay-sensitive applications. However, the lack of guidelines on how the deployment of such technologies can yield positive outcomes for all parties involved is lacking. The lack of business models to facilitate easier and productive deployment of a Cloudlet is considered a business risk for businesses willing to deploy it. This paper discusses the components that can be used in order to develop a Service Level Agreement (SLA) -base Cloudlet business model that will ensure fairness, Quality of Experience (QoE) and service guarantees for consumers. These components are obtained from the existing knowledge and leveraged for a Cloudlet environment. The paper also, introduces the usage of bipartite SLA's as a means of achieving the objectives of the envisaged Cloudlet business model.
