In recent years, earthquakes with moderate or low intensity in the Songyuan area have occurred frequently, which caused some damage in many buildings. In this paper, it is successful to assess the performance of the north approach bridge of the Songyuan Bridge in series Songyuan earthquakes by conducting both experimental and numerical studies. To measure the dynamic characteristics of the bridge and calibrate the finite-element model, ambient vibration tests were conducted. The earthquake response analysis for the bridge under the real strong ground motion records, is made. Finally, which parts may be dangerous during this earthquake are discussed.
