The innermost part of the Ariake Sea has extensive lowlands behind the coastline, and vulnerability against storm surge disaster in the Saga Plain is extremely high. The intensity of typhoons in the future is greater than that in the present due to global warming, and the vulnerability will be higher. In this study, we investigated the characteristics in future typhoons by analyzing the large ensemble climate projection data. Subsequently, storm surge inundation under the strongest future typhoon was simulated, and then effects of various countermeasure facilities on storm surge disaster were investigated.
