We present a hybrid time-domain numerical technique for analyzingelectromagnetic scattering and coupling problems. This hybrid techniqueconsists of combining the time-domain integral equation (IE) and thefinite difference time-domain (FDTD) methods. This approach eliminatessome of the computational difficulties of using a standard FDTDmethodology. One problem with such a hybrid technique is that unwantedreflections can occur at the IE/FDTD boundary. In this paper, weintroduce a technique to reduce these unwanted reflections. We presentvarious examples illustrating how the IE/FDTD hybrid approach can beused to solve EMC problems
