The idea that the resolution of conflicts represents the highest value is dangerous and destructive. This will be explored from three points of view: 1) Dynamic tensions between values in conflict can be the basis of growth. They sharpen the detection of new variables, encourage diversity and flexibility to adapt to change. Life in particular is a continuous process of selection and rejection. The concept of survival of the fittest is being challenged today and correctly so, if it is allowed to presume that what is "fittest" can be redefined, regardless of changes in the environment.
