Industrial Automation has been promoted continuously for more than two decades in Taiwan.In the year of 1970's,the main theme was "low cost automation",which was using Pneumatic,hydraulic,cams & linkages,conveyors,etc..,as the major technical scheme to improve the production speed as well as to reduce the muscle fatigue of the labor.However,in 1980's,the essential scheme was "Island of Automation",which is developing and using computerized numerical controlled (CNC) machine tools,or programmable logic controlled (PLC) industrial machinery.In 1990's, the computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) becomes the amin stream of automation,which emphasizes on the system integration technology of the information flow and the material flow.
